TEMPORARY STAFF POLICY GUIDE

You represent Dental Staff Placement (DSP) whenever you accept an assignment in one of our client’s offices.  Please review the following personnel policies and if you have any questions or comments, contact your employment counselor for assistance.

ON TIME:   Whenever you accept an assignment, please note the exact time you are scheduled to arrive at the office.  If for any reason you know you will be late, contact the doctor’s office as soon as possible to inform them of your situation.

CANCELLATIONS:  If it becomes necessary to cancel an assignment, contact DSP immediately and we will contact the doctor to arrange a replacement if possible.  If you need to cancel an assignment and you cannot reach DSP, contact the doctor’s office directly.  After you have contacted the doctor’s office, contact DSP as soon as possible to inform us of the situation.

DRESS CODE:  Clinical assistants and hygienist are required to follow all OSHA standards of asepsis (gloves, masks, and eye protectors).  Ask the Doctor in the office you are assigned about their standards of asepsis.

Clinical Assistants and Hygienist

Ø      Must wear clean and pressed clothes

Ø      May choose between uniforms and lab coats

Ø      White clinical shoes are preferred

Ø      No open toed shoes or sandals

Ø      Limited use of makeup and perfume

Ø      Business Staff (receptionists and managers) may wear “business smart” attire

ADDITIONAL ASSIGNMENTS:  If a DSP client requests that you return for additional assignments, all future assignments must be arranged by DSP.  Please inform the doctor that you will communicate their request and dates of the assignments to DSP. All future assignments in DSP offices must be coordinated through DSP.

PERMANENT PLACEMENTS:  As a temp, if a DSP client requests that you accept a permanent position in the office, you must communicate your acceptance of the assignment to DSP as soon as possible.   We will forward all necessary permanent placement information to the office.  All permanent placement positions resulting from a temporary assignment in a client office must be coordinated through DSP.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION:  If at anytime you encounter a problem during an assignment in a DSP client office, make your best efforts to resolve the problem.  You are a professional and we expect that you will handle any problems professionally.  If the problem cannot be resolved, contact DSP as soon as possible and we will assist you in every way.
